REAL DIAPER ASSOCIATION AND LOCAL ADVOCACY

REAL DIAPER CIRCLES
Local groups gather for public education about cloth diapering. This
may be directed at one another, new parents, public officials, media, health
professionals, or others. The groups determine together what their
direction will be. If the group chooses to affiliate with Real Diaper
Association, they may call themselves a Real Diaper Circle and be listed in
the RDA Directory.
Guidelines
- A Real Diaper Circle must be led by an RDA accredited Real Diaper
Circle Leader. That Leader's RDA membership must be current.
- Any two or more RDA members (including a Leader) may form a group and
apply to be affiliated with RDA as a Real Diaper Circle.
- An existing local group that wants to focus on cloth diapering education
may choose to affiliate the group with RDA and become a Real Diaper Circle
IF they have an accredited Leader.
- Real Diaper Circles are focused on education, not buying and selling.
- Real Diaper Association and Real Diaper Circles promote cloth diapering
in general, not one brand or type of diapers in particular.
- Real Diaper Association reserves the right to refuse affiliation to any
particular Leader, Advocate or Circle. If an accreditation or
affiliation is declined, the person or group will be given a reason.
Benefits
- Listing in Real Diaper Association Directory for all affiliated
Real Diaper Circles whose affiliation fees and Leader's accreditation are current.
- Publicity for the Circle on the RDA website, in publications, and in
educational and other materials.
- Real Diaper Circle seal if the group or Leader has a website.
- Group support for cloth diapering advocacy.
- All of the RDA benefits below.
How this might work in action.
- A Circle might hold public meetings for education or advocacy planning.
- Circle members might teach classes on cloth diapering for new parents
and health care workers.
- Circle members might meet to support one another in cloth diapering
their own children as well as in educating others.
- Through the Leader or any member appointed by the Leader, an affiliated
Real Diaper Circle should keep in touch with RDA organizers to talk about
successes and challenges, to ensure that all publicity information is up to
date, and to seek support when needed.
