REAL DIAPER ASSOCIATION NEWS: Volume 3, 25 AUG 2004
The Real Diaper Association is please to announce the opening of
the RDA Seed Program, beginning in Canada. What does this mean for you? It means
that Canadian parents and businesses can join RDA, and learn how to begin
their own RDA in Canada.
What is the Seed Program? The RDA Seed Program was created in
order to help people create a Real Diaper Association in their country.
We believe that local solutions are best, so instead of expanding RDA
United States (RDA-US), we are encouraging interested individuals residing
in other countries to build their own RDA under our guidance.
We are planting the seeds to help other countries begin
their own Real Diaper Associations. We will only help one country at
a time, unless we decide that we can handle more than one. Those
interested in building a Real Diaper Association in their country can
contact us at
info@realdiaperassociation.org.
Oh, Canada! Our first RDA Seed country will be Canada
because we have had more Canadians contact us about RDA than residents of
any other country (outside of the U.S.). If you are from another
country and you are interested in participating in this program, please
contact us at
info@realidaperassociation.org.

Join RDA and help us create the cultural shift towards the use of
REAL DIAPERS!

How does it work? The Real Diaper Association will offer
individual memberships, business memberships, space in our Local Resource
Directory, and our expertise in creating an organization to our Canadian members.
Canadian members will have Circles and Circle Leaders. We offer this
with the expectation that Canadian members are willing and able to create
an RDA Canada (RDA-C). We do not expect that every member who joins
from Canada will take it upon themselves to create the RDA-C, but we do
expect that some will. If, within 6 months, no one has taken the
initiative to begin creating RDA-C, we will reevaluate the situation.
We will accept Canadian members beginning today, 25 August 2004, until the
date agreed upon that they will become independent from RDA-US. This
date is flexible but is not to exceed one year, unless there are
acceptable reasons for extending the length of the relationship.
More Babies in Cloth Diapers.
The goal of RDA is to see more babies in cloth diapers. We have
limited our own scope to the U.S. because we want to concentrate on
providing support for local members to find solutions, and we don't
believe we could do this as well beyond national borders. We are
happy, though, to share our experience with others who want to build their
own local solutions, and we look forward to working with Canadians and
others to nurture the seeds of their own organizations.

The Real Diaper Association is excited to welcome Canadian members
who share in our mission to create a cultural shift to increase the use of
simple, reusable cloth diapers. We encourage Canadian cloth
diapering advocates and activists to begin reaching-out within their
communities for the face-to-face sharing of knowledge that will make cloth
diapering accessible and acceptable to Canadian parents.
The Real Diaper Association is organized so that we can help our Circles
and our members. We are here for you. If you have any
questions or concerns, please contact us at
info@realdiaperassociation.org.
Thank you for supporting the Real Diaper Association!
